Every
year children are killed because drivers forget them in hot cars. One way I
have found that might help drivers remember their passengers is to take an
extra pair of shoes of the child or larger pair and put them on the front seat of the car. The
driver may also hang a pair of small baby shoes from their mirror as a
reminder. This is a small immediate solution to the problem until we unveil our new transportation designs.
This
solution comes from the transportation industry where team truck drivers keep track
of each other by leaving their shoes on the passenger seat or floorboard side
whenever the non-driver is in the sleeper berth. This is done so the driver
does not run off and leave the non-driver behind if the non-driver wakes up and
has the sudden urge to go into the Truckstop, shipper, or receiver restroom
(unbeknownst to the driver).
I can’t tell you how many stories I’ve heard about
the other team driver left behind by his or her partner and the panic that
ensued when this happened. Therefore, I think the shoes in the front seat, mirror, or dash will
help drivers remember they have important passengers. Note: You can use a much larger pair of shoes on the seat! Simply look for the owner
of the shoes!
I hope these ideas help you remember your most precious possession. They are simple, cheap, and effective ways to save your baby's life. To put it bluntly, you would not leave a million dollars laying on the seat of your car. Your little one will someday grow up and possibly be your caretaker. Treat your baby with respect, dignity, and compassion. They have a long memory. Don't leave them to die a horrible death simply because of your apathy and laziness. Make your baby the priority and implement these solutions today!
